High school seniors James Williams and Ben Slevin may have graduated from Mission Viejo Christian School (MVCS) in 2014, but they are back on campus in 2018 as coaches for one of the school’s two elementary basketball teams. Under the leadership of Head Coach James Williams and Assistant Coach Ben Slevin, the team had an impressive 38 to 8 victory over St. Catherine’s in their first game of the season.
MVCS's Junior High production of "A Christmas Carol" was met with rave reviews. As a special treat, the Friday evening performance was a Dinner Show! Festive Christmas Tables welcomed guests, and the wow-factor continued from there with a fabulous performance AND a tasty meal. Saturday's performance did not include dinner, but it was equally entertaining for everyone in attendance. Click on title to see photos from the performance.
MVCS's 1st through 3rd grade students delighted audiences with their production of "A Charlie Brown Christmas." The heart-warming tale unfolded before packed-houses over multiple days, and left everyone smiling ear-to-ear. Click to see photographs from the performance.
MVCS is fortunate to have so many talented students who work hard to develop and share the gifts God has given them. With our expanded Arts Department, we have more opportunities this year for students to shine on stage. This Christmas season, first through third grade students will perform in "A Charlie Brown Christmas Story", first through sixth grade students will participate in a musical showcase, and our junior high students are presenting "A Christmas Carol."
In just a few weeks, it will be time to move on to our 2018 Spring Musical! Click on the title and follow the links to see our 2017 production, "Disney's The Little Mermaid Junior" which was splashing success!
Standardized tests scores represent a snapshot taken at a moment in time to help identify strengths, weaknesses, and trends for individual students, grade-levels, and for MVCS as a whole. They do not tell the whole story and are only one of many measures we use. With that said, we cannot help but be extremely pleased with our students’ Spring 2017 test scores and the continued trend for achieving academic excellence at MVCS. Please click on the title to review a summary of whole school results, as well as results by grade level. On the grade level graphics, you will see MVCS’s scores in the red bar, compared to other ACSI schools in California (gray), and ACSI schools globally (tan). Once again, MVCS scores are remarkable on their own, and even more astounding when compared to our peers. Great work Crusaders!
We are committed to partnering with you to ensure MVCS and each of our students achieve their greatest God-given potential. Our End-of-the-Year Parent Survey is one way we solicit anonymous feedback annually, but we truly welcome your input throughout the year. We encourage you to stop by the office, send us an email, or call us at any time if you have suggestions, questions, or concerns. Additionally, if you use the MVCS App, there is a “Feedback” tab which allows you to send us messages from your phone. You can input your name and email address if you wish, or send the message anonymously if you prefer.
In addition to being thrilled with the results in our latest Parent Survey, we were pleased with the increased number of responses compared to the number who responded in 2016. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. We hope this trend continues into 2018. We truly read each and every survey and value your input!
