Standardized Tests Data

MVCS utilizes the IOWA standardized assessment tests. These are achievement tests that assess students' skills in Reading, Language, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science. The tests assess both foundational skills and higher-order thinking skills. The IOWA Assessments provide national and local comparisons.

On average, MVCS continues to score in the top 15% nationally across all grade levels on the IOWA Standardized Test. MVCS administration and faculty analyze the data to identify strengths and opportunities for continued growth, ensuring that MVCS exceeds the highest academic standards, as was recently affirmed by the ACSI accreditation visiting team.

In the past, MVCS utilized the TerraNova Standardized Test annually to assess academic strengths and weaknesses and to monitor student achievement rates.
