Message from the Athletic Director

Blessings, Crusader family! In spite of the short year and the cancellation of the spring sports slate, we had another successful year that included our first ever Division Title in Junior High Girls Basketball, a Division Title in Elementary Girls Volleyball, and Division Title and 3rd place league finish in Junior High Boys Football.

Our coaches strive to teach our student-athletes important life lessons, including teamwork, cooperation, dedication, discipline, sportsmanship, integrity, and a strong work ethic. Most importantly, coaches teach our athletes to represent the God we serve in all respects. The athletics program strives to provide a safe environment for the athletes to maximize their God-given abilities in a competitive setting.

This year, we move from PAL (Parochial Athletic League) to CALOC (Christian Athletic League of Orange County.) In addition to our usual sports lineup, CALOC offers a strong, organized girls football program, which is very important to MVCS. Students in the 5th and 6th grades participate in the elementary divisions, while students in the 7th and 8th grades are eligible to participate in the junior high divisions of each sport.

We are excited to announce the addition of Co-Ed Golf to our offerings! We offer boys and girls cross country program for grades 3-8 and boys and girls track and field team for grades 1-8.

Our seasonal teams are as follows:

FALL: Boys Football, Girls Basketball, and Cheerleading

WINTER: Boys Basketball, Girls Volleyball, and Cheerleading

SPRING: Track & Field, Co-Ed Soccer, Boys Volleyball, Girls Football, and Co-Ed Golf

You can also look forward to our weekly “Crusader Countdown,” which will allow you to stay up to date with MVCS Athletics. I can’t tell you how blessed I am to be called to serve as Athletic Director at MVCS.
God bless!
Mike Shumaker
