Profile

Christina Swanson’s love for the Lord and passion for hands-on collaborative, project-based learning, curiosity, discovery, innovation, and creativity led her to the perfect position as a STEM teacher at MVCS. She attended Azusa Pacific University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Christian Ministries; Master of Arts Degree in Teaching; Cross-cultural, Language, and Academic Development (CLAD) Certificate; and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. She has taught both fourth and sixth grade and ran the K-fifth grade elementary program as part of the Children’s Ministries at Mariners Church, Mission Viejo.

Additionally, Mrs. Swanson has over 20 years of experience teaching dance and choreographing musicals in the Christian school setting. We are blessed to have her share her talents with us -- teaching after-school dance classes and helping with choreographing the school musicals.

Harbor Point Church is Mrs. Swanson’s home church and she loves studying the book of Daniel. She says that it is a reminder that, “just like Daniel, we too, can have resolve in any and every situation.”

Mrs. Swanson has been married to her husband, Jonathan, for 21 years. He is the Director of Curriculum Instruction and Academic Enrichment at the Orange County Department of Education. They have two children, Joshua, who will be attending Grand Canyon University in the fall of 2022 and majoring in Elementary Education, and Bella, a high school junior who loves the performing arts.

In high school, Mrs. Swanson attended the Orange County School of the Arts. She grew up singing, dancing, acting, and loving the arts. We have no doubt that her creative spirit is appreciated by all of her students as she brings her lessons to life in new ways!
