Mike Shumaker graduated from the University of Colorado - Colorado Springs with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Literature. Mr. Shumaker has several years of experience coaching a wide variety of sports in both elementary and high school.  He has volunteered at MVCS as a coach for nearly five years.  

Mike loves being a husband and a father.  His wife Michele, is the Fine Arts Director at MVCS and they have two daughters together, Elena and Annabelle.  His favorite Bible verse is Corinthians 16:13, "Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong."

Mr. Shumaker loves all sports!  His favorites are baseball, basketball, football and martial arts. He is an advocate for girl's and women's sports on all levels.   He enjoys classical literature, Shakespeare, all theater, history, cooking and is a major George Washington enthusiast.
