Enrichment

Enrichment classes are the heart of the "plus" in MVCS's STEM+ learning approach. These classes provide students with opportunities for learning and development in art, music, and performing arts. In addition, these classes expand and empower our student's creativity and ability to communicate and are purposely integrated into scheduled classroom time.

Art:

  • MVCS embraces the importance of hands-on artistic expression through regular art instruction in kindergarten through grade 6. Junior high students have options for advanced art training in their elective choices. Additional after-school art classes are also available.

Performing Arts, Music, Choir, and Instruments:

  • MVCS performing arts emphasis is on music (instrumentation, appreciation, and theory), singing, movement, and performance.

  • Students in grades 5-6 can learn to play an instrument (guitar, keyboard, or ukulele) or participate in choir.

  • Students in junior high (grades 7-8) have options for electives in Improve, Show Choir, or Worship Band.

In addition to offering opportunities to play on various after-school sports teams and participate in musical theater productions, MVCS offers opportunities for students with various other interests. Multi-week after-school enrichment sessions are offered throughout the year for the following classes/clubs:

  • Art Club (Grades 1-6)
  • Dance (Grades 1-3)
  • Professor Egghead STEM (Grades 1-3)
  • Professor Egghead Engineering with Legos (Grades 1-6)
  • God's Players (Grades 5-8)
