Junior High (Grades 7-8)

Junior High (Grades 7-8)

“Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young,
but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity
show yourself an example of those who believe.”

1 Timothy 4:12

AT MVCS, we believe that the Junior High years are pivotal in transitioning and preparing elementary students into confident young adults who are ready for the challenges that await them in high school and beyond. We believe that they rise to the bars that we set for them, which is why they are not to be looked down upon because they are young. They are capable of great things NOW, just as God planned.

The MVCS Junior High Program is intentionally designed to equip students to soar -- academically, spiritually, socially, athletically, artistically, and in any other God-given capacity. We purpose to increase their opportunities to lead, to mature, and to become more independent. Small class sizes taught by caring and dedicated teachers, who are experts in their subject areas, enable and encourage students to maximize their gifts, talents, and leadership abilities. A wide range of elective options, service opportunities, extracurricular programs, and social events give students room to discover their uniqueness and to excel. (Click on the link at the bottom of the page to read details about the junior high elective courses offered this year.)

The following core subjects are taught: Math, English, History, Science, Bible, and Spanish.

MVCS approaches education from a 21st century perspective by offering a relevant and technology-rich learning environment. Each student possesses his/her own Chromebook computer which they use extensively in their classes. They also benefit from our new and expanded STEM Learning Lab and our innovative and hands-on approach to teaching.

Upon graduation, MVCS junior high students attend a variety of private and public high schools in the area. 100% of our past graduates have been accepted into the high schools of their choosing, with the majority continuing to excel in advanced placement and honors level courses.

The partnership between parents, students, teachers, and administration is at the heart of our successful MVCS Junior High Program. We are proud of what our students have achieved in and out of the classroom, and are thrilled to launch them, to their fullest potential, into the bright future that God has prepared for them.
