Spiritual Development

  • Chapels – Weekly, grade level chapels are an essential part of our MVCS community. We have three different chapel services every Friday, divided by grades: 1st-3rd, 4th-6th, and junior high (7th-8th). Chapels include a time of worship and prayer along with age-appropriate messages from one of our teachers, administrators, staff members, students, or guests. Parents, family, and friends
are always encouraged to join us in our chapels.
  • Character Trait Focus – Each month we have a school-wide focus on a specific character trait which we desire to study and incorporate more into our lives in an effort to become more like Jesus Christ. Character trait discussions are incorporated into classroom lessons, Bible study, and as part of weekly chapel messages.
  • Bible – In addition to being integrated into every aspect of our daily learning, all students study the Bible daily as part of a Bible class. We memorize verses, often focusing on our specific monthly school-wide character trait.
  • Prayer Time – MVCS students pray daily in class. They are encouraged to speak openly before their teachers and classmates and bring before God both their prayer requests and their prayers of thanksgiving.
  • Mission – Students learn to use their God-given talents and blessings to help others locally and around the world. We harvest vegetables and fruits from the Faith Garden and give them to Second Harvest Food Bank to serve those in need. We participate in various school-wide mission projects such as Operation Christmas Child and we have class and grade level mission projects such as volunteering at food pantries, supporting orphanages in Haiti and Kenya, and adopting and supporting troops. Serving others is an integral part of who we are at MVCS.
