MVCS was founded with 48 students in 1993 as a ministry of Mission Viejo Christian Church in Mission Viejo, California, a city which continues to be distinguished as one of the nation's safest cities. The founding pastors and educators were committed to teaching children in a loving, Christ-centered, and academically rigorous environment. Their mission was to educate children so that they may achieve their greatest potential and fulfill God's purpose in their lives. Over the next 17 years word spread, enrollment tripled, and we needed a larger campus.
In 2012, we moved the elementary and junior high school (grades 1-8) to our current 11-acre campus which features spacious classrooms, multiple playgrounds and blacktop areas, an expansive 5-acre field, and even more room to grow. (Our preschool and kindergarten classes remain located less than a mile away at our Mission Viejo Christian Church site). Today's student body enrollment exceeds 300 students in grades 1-8, and we now have a staff of nearly 50 dedicated employees.
We have invested heavily in technology to better educate and engage 21st century learners. Our STEM+ program offers project-based, hands-on learning with real world applications in science, technology, engineering, and math; along with enrichment education in the fine arts and foreign language.
We are accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and certified for international students by the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP).
MVCS is committed to staying true to our founding mission of educating the whole child and preparing servant leaders for success in high school, college, and future career tracts God has planned for them.
