Mr. Cortez has taught in physical education for over 16 years.  He has a Master of Arts in Education from National University, and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, from California State University, Northridge.  Mr. Cortez also has a Single Subject Physical Education Teaching Credential, and an Administrative Credential, both from National University. 

Mr. Cortez has extensive experience teaching physical education and health for junior high and high school students.  He coached Varsity Football and Track and Field at Jefferson High School, Cathedral High School, and Roosevelt High School.  He also has a heart for mentoring and training students year-round, for over 10 years he has volunteered at Students Run Los Angeles (SRLA).

Mr. Cortez attends Saddleback Church. Romans 12:12 reminds him that God has always been on time during all situations he has faced in life. "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." 

Outside of work, Mr. Cortez enjoys running, reading, and attending athletic events of all types. He truly is passionate about health and fitness!
