Profile

Melissa Clarke has been in education for over 20 years. She joins MVCS from the Irvine Unified School District where she taught first through third grade. She earned her Bachelor of Arts, in Liberal Studies from Azusa Pacific University. Mrs. Clarke also has a Master of Arts (MA) in Teaching and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from Azusa Pacific.  Her passion for teaching began at a young age.  As a little girl, she played school all the time and knew she would grow up to be a teacher.  Mrs. Clarke loves witnessing "light bulb" moments when something a child has been struggling with suddenly just clicks!

Mrs. Clarke and her family attend Rockharbor Church, Mission Viejo. Her favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-6, “ Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and he will make your paths straight."  She loves this verse because "Our lives have high points and low points. It is easy to trust God in the high points but I need to also remember to always trust God in the low points as well because He has a plan and purpose for my life."

Outside of school, Mrs. Clarke loves spending time with her husband, Chris, and their two children, Emma and Jackson. She loves soccer and played all through high school.  Mrs. Clarke earned the Gold Award in Girl Scouts.  This award is the mark of the truly remarkable—proof that not only can she make a difference, but that she already has!
