Academics
Our Junior High Program is intentionally designed to help our 7th and 8th grade students develop leadership abilities, establish a firm faith foundation, and advance higher-level thinking and social skills so they will be prepared to meet and exceed the challenges that await them in high school, college, and beyond.
-
Class Rotations – Students rotate between classes and teachers for the core subjects of Math, English, History, Science, Bible, and Spanish.
-
1:1 Chromebook Program – Every student owns a Chromebook for daily use in and out of class.
-
STEM Lab – MVCS junior high students are engaged with innovative, real-world, hands-on learning.
-
Spanish – Junior high Spanish language classes meet five days a week. Throughout the two-year program, students complete high school Spanish Level I, providing an opportunity for students to test into Spanish Level II as high school freshmen.
-
Community Service – Through serving others, students discover their gifts, become more active and purposeful in their Christian life, and learn the joy that flows from loving others. Students complete a minimum of 15 hours of community service during their 7th and 8th grade years, with 30 hours required before graduation.
-
Future Success – MVCS graduates have attended many different private and public high schools in the area. MVCS has a long-standing track record of 100% acceptance to all private high schools. Whether public or private, most of our graduates excel in advanced and honors courses in high school.
