Profile

Leigh Swope became a teacher after being inspired by the the impact teachers and education had on her own children. She loves making a difference in young lives through teaching. Prior to coming to MVCS, Mrs. Swope was a teacher at Spirit Christian Academy, where she taught fifth grade for six years and sixth grade for seven years. She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications from California State University Dominguez Hills and her California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential through Cal State Teach. This will be her 15th year teaching.

Mrs. Swope attends Mariners Church in Irvine. Her favorite Bible verse is Lamentations 3:22-23 "The steadfast love the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." She loves the assurance that God's faithful love is unending and his mercy is new every day.

Outside of school, Mrs. Swope enjoys spending time with her family, reading, digital scrapbooking, going to the beach, and watching movies with her kids. Her immediate family includes Greg, her husband of 25 years, and their three sons. Evan (age 22) is a recent graduate of Chapman University; Braden (age 19) graduated from Orange County School of the Arts in Film and Television and is pursuing a career in filmmaking while attending Community College; and Landon (age 13) is in eighth grade at MVCS.
