Ms.Kate joins MVCS with an impressive background, a LOVE for music, and a heart for Jesus. Mrs. Hodges received her undergraduate degree from Azusa Pacific with a BA in Youth Ministry and a Minor in Music, and in 2015 graduated with her Masters of Divinity from Azusa Pacific Seminary.  Right out of college she worked as a youth pastor as well as ran a nonprofit for children in Nyeri, Kenya at Belwop Children's Home. She has also served as a youth pastor for over the past ten years and has taught music for over fifteen years. Kate plays the piano, viola, violin, guitar, ukulele, drums, bass, electric guitar, mandolin, and whatever else she can get her hands on that is musical! 

Jeremiah 24:7 is her favorite Bible verse, "I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the Lord. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me with all their heart."  She shares that this verse is the very desire of God for us - to be His, and to wholeheartedly love Him. She deeply desires to see this happen in the Church and in the hearts of all her students.

Mrs. Hodges (aka Ms. Kate!) is married to her husband, David, and has a son at MVCS, Jett (6), who is spirited, enthusiastic, and energetic.  She loves spending time with Jett and David and their adorable and silly golden retriever, Harbor. Outside of work, she teaches music lessons, loves to travel, and loves to create and record songs. She also enjoys spending time on the beach, snowboarding, drinking coffee, and watching comedies with friends. Ms. Kate loves all things Hawaiian: acai bowls, pineapples, palm trees, tropical waters, surfing, and the tiki room at Disneyland with a frozen Dole Whip!
