History

MVCS was founded with 48 students in 1993 as a ministry of Mission Viejo Christian Church in Mission Viejo, California. This city remains distinguished as one of the nation's safest cities. The founding pastors and educators were committed to teaching children in a loving, Christ-centered, and academically rigorous environment. Their mission was to educate children so that they may achieve their greatest potential and fulfill God's purpose in their lives. Over the next 17 years, word spread, enrollment tripled, and we needed a larger campus.

In 2012, we moved the elementary and junior high school to our current 11-acre campus, which features spacious classrooms, multiple playgrounds and blacktop areas, an expansive 5-acre field, and even more room to grow. (Our preschool classes remain less than a mile away at our Mission Viejo Christian Church site). Today's student body enrollment exceeds 500 students in grades K-8, and we now have a staff of over 60 dedicated employees.

MVCS provides students with a collaborative, hands-on education from a Biblical worldview. Our integrated STEM teaching focus goes beyond traditional education methods and engages students in a technology-rich environment where real-world applications foster innovation, exploration, and imagination. We incorporate project-based learning to bring the classroom to life. We are committed to staying true to our founding mission of educating the whole child and preparing servant leaders for success in high school, college, and future career tracks God has planned for them.

MVCS is accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
