Admissions Policy

Mission Viejo Christian School partners with families to provide a loving environment where students can build a strong academic foundation, develop their unique God-given talents, and learn to know Jesus in a personal way as they prepare for high school and beyond. With that as our goal, at least one parent must affirm a personal commitment to faith in Christ and the purposes of Christian education.

Tour our Campus

We invite you to visit our campus to experience MVCS and hear about all we have to offer. Your tour will provide an opportunity to visit classrooms including our STEM lab, music room and art studio, see our large playgrounds and 5-acre sports field, meet staff members, and learn about the application process.

  • Non-refundable application fee | $100 Grades 1-8 | $125 Kindergarten (includes Chancy & Bruce assessment).

  • Copy of certified birth certificate

  • Complete and up-to-date immunization records
    (Click here to view Parents Guide to Immunizations Required)

  • Individual and family photo (for ID purposes only)
  • Report cards for the past two years (Grades 1-8)

  • Standardized testing from the past two years, if completed

  • Provide email contact for Teacher Reference Form (by a current teacher or within the past year)

  • Provide email contact for Family Reference Form (by a church leader or MVCS parent, no relatives)

  • Kindergarten Readiness Parent Observations Form (Kindergarten applicants)

  • Preschool Progress Report (Kindergarten applicants)
Student Assessment

When needed, prospective students applying to Grades 1-8 will be requested to meet on campus for an academic assessment. Assessments are offered at 3:30 pm on the MVCS campus on Wednesday, January 17, and Wednesday, January 24, 2024.

Kindergarten applicants from MVC Preschool:
Once you have submitted your child's 2024-25 Kindergarten application, your child will be scheduled for an assessment on January 9,10, and 12, 2024, between 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. Screenings will be offered at the MVC Preschool campus during your child’s school day.

Kindergarten Applicants from other preschools: 
Once you have submitted your child's 2024-25 Kindergarten application, you will receive a link to schedule a 30-minute time slot between 9:00 am and 11:30 am on one of the following assessment dates offered on our campus. 

Tuesday       January 16, 2024
Friday          January 19, 2024

If your child is not available on these dates, please schedule an assessment date convenient for you no later than January 31 directly with Chancy and Bruce Educational Resources located in San Clemente by calling 714-841-1257

Family Interview

In order to get to know one another better, prospective families may be requested to join our principal for a 30-minute family meeting. 
Acceptance

The Admissions Committee will evaluate each applicant’s file. Shortly thereafter, you will be notified regarding your child’s acceptance.
