Elementary Academics
Grades 1st through 5th are the traditional self–contained classrooms. There are one/two classes in each of these grade levels with the following core subjects being taught in each grade:
Mathematics, Bible, Conduct, Language Arts (Reading, Phonics, Spelling), Penmanship, Science, Social Studies
Each grade level also includes classes in art, music, library, computer, physical education, and Spanish. These classes are taught by specialized teachers. The teachers either go to the classroom or students go to an on-campus location for instruction. These "pull-out" classes meet once a week for 40 minutes, except Library which is 30 minutes per week.
- Art:
- Students will delight in expanding their creativity in Art with activities which will include charcoal drawing, painting, sculpture.
- Music:
- Students will study theory, history, basic reading of music and singing.
- Computers:
- Students will be introduced to computers, basic keyboarding and a comprehensive course to help students utilize all areas of Microsoft office programs.
- Physical Education:
- Students will have P.E. The goal is to provide students with opportunities to develop physical abilities learn life skills and practice good sportsmanship.
- Spanish:
- Students will have Basic, conversational Spanish and Latin American customs are studied.
