MVCS Academics Overview

Mission Viejo Christian School is located in Mission Viejo California. Mission Viejo is a suburban, middle–class community in Southern Orange County which has reputation of being one of the nation’s safest cities.

The school was founded in 1993 as a ministry of Mission Viejo Christian Church. The initial enrollment was 48 students in grades K—8th. The school’s current enrollment is 185 students in grades 1st — 8th. MVCS school population is predominantly Caucasian with an even mix of boys to girls.

Mission Viejo Christian School has a great teaching staff. All teachers are ACSI certified and have completed all course work leading up to their California Teaching Credential. Six teachers have earned their masters degree and all teachers are fully supportive of the school’s mission and vision.

Students at MVCS receive a rich and well–rounded Christ–centered education. In addition to the core subjects, students study Spanish, art, music, and technology in grades 1st—8th Students in junior high are offered a variety of elective courses and additional supplemental courses such as study skills, health, and research paper. Classes in junior high are also tracked according to math abilities to provide a math program that is both challenging and accessible to all students. Our alumni questionnaires have reported that parents are happy with the preparation of each student for the individual high school programs in the South County area.
